STATUE WARS

I know this might be controversial what I’m going to say.
I think the removal of a statue is the removal and disassociation to historical fact.
It avoids acknowledgement of what today’s society perceives as the wrongs of the society of that time did; and the question of where, why, what and how our city originated from. It’s burying facts, where eventually it becomes forgotten.
How can we teach future generations when we erase or rewrite history just because we disagree with it? Instead, I think we should just add to history where it shows the whole picture (both the good and the bad).
